You got to say in this instant, Microsoft were smart

A few months ago there were lots of complaints from M$ that they were not able to build a YouTube app for windows 8. The API's were not available and Google refused to make one. What did M$ do, make one based on RSS feeds from knowing full well that it will violate YouTube's terms of service.

So because it violates the terms of service, Google asked it to take it down and ask M$ to take the app down.

You would just say, well M$ just go and make it compliant. But Google does not open the API's to make it compliant. So what does M$ do? They are stuck right? No they just used Google's Larry Page speech at IO last week.

Larry Page was quoted saying they wish all companies will work together. Microsoft used this and said back to Google, well you want everyone to work together, but you don't allow us to do so. So Google being Google has now said well we can work with you on the YouTube app.

Microsoft played Google in my opinion to get access to the necessary A…

Twitter Two-Factor Sucks

Ok, might be me but can't get it to work. It ask if I received a text message and never received one. Maybe it is just teething issues but that is seriously bad.

And yes I verified my number is correct because it actually ask you to send a text message to them to make sure it is your phone...

One TB of space for Flickr? Your move FB/Google+

Man that is pretty compelling that you get 1TB of storage. That is pretty awesome!

+Eric Schmidt response on Google's UK Tax paid

It is nice that Eric pointed out the real reason for this whole situation. If the UK government wants to claim more tax from companies like Google then don't make noise in the media and call Google to don't do evil. Go fix your stupid rules and stop wasting our time and our tax money by complaining to the media and getting nothing done!

5 things I would like to see at Google IO

Lots of rumours and leaks has been making the rounds for the upcoming Google IO 2013 event. But there are things that has not been mentioned which I want Google to sort out and get done. So here are my 5 most wanted things that I want Google to (unlikely) announced at Google IO 2013.

Warning: Long post
1. Backup and Restore Data for Android
2. Find my Device / Remote Wipe for Android
3. Android Apps on Chrome
4. Nexus Q - Part 2?
5. Improve Currents to become the new Google Reader

1. Backup and Restore Data for Android

I cannot believe there is no simple solution for this. This is the main reason why I root my Android phone. If I get a new phone or tablet and reinstall my application, some apps restore my data and some apps do not. There is so much inconsistencies on how this is handled which needs to be sorted out.

The main culprits are games (Angry Birds anyone) where you pick up a new device but then all your high scores are gone and your level progression. The Rumoured Google Play Gam…

And I thought learning to play guitar was hard

I thought this was not possible, but man this guy is super talented! Rob Michael originally shared this post: Whenever a student complains to me that playing the guitar is difficult, I show them this video. We never have that conversation again.

Do you have two arms and ten fingers? You're more than qualified to play guitar. C'mon over.

Scientific explanation of why men love breasts

Guy Kawasaki originally shared this post: Scientific explanation of why men love breasts

In case you needed an explanation, Larry Young, a professor of psychiatry at Emory University, provides one:

"Evolution has selected for this brain organization in men that makes them attracted to the breasts in a sexual context, because the outcome is that it activates the female bonding circuit, making women feel more bonded with him. It's a behavior that males have evolved in order to stimulate the female's maternal bonding circuitry."

Gangnam Style through glass

Warning though, it makes you feel a bit queasy, but kinda interesting to see a dance routine through glass

Brilliant if they are on the verge

David Bee originally shared this post: Could this finally be the big breakthrough the world has been waiting for?

Danish scientists believe they are on the brink of an HIV cure.  You read that right: Cure.  Not treatment, but a way to totally rid the body of HIV.  Forever.

They are conducting clinical trials to test a “novel strategy” in which the HIV virus is stripped from human DNA and destroyed permanently by the immune system.

And, unlike expensive and risky gene-therapy "cures", this would potentially be mass-distributable and affordable.   I hope this isn't too good to be true.

Got to say this is awesome. Seriously you can do this through chrome?

Daniel Caiafa originally shared this post: Hangouts Remote Desktop: tech support with a personal touch

For those of you who play tech support for friends and family, there’s now a Hangouts app to make things easier -- powered by the same technology behind Chrome Remote Desktop.

Hangouts Remote Desktop lets you help others by controlling their computer remotely (with their permission, of course). And because you’re both in a Hangout, you can talk with and see each other during the session.

To get started, just start a Hangout and click View More Apps > Add Apps > Hangouts Remote Desktop.
